Project Description

Intercontinental Airport of Houston (IAH) covers 10,000 acres of land and is located about 23 miles north of downtown Houston. Being the 10th busiest airport in the US, IAH caters to over 41 million passengers annually with its five runways and terminals. It is served by over two dozen airlines offering flights to about 185 destinations.
In 2019, major renovation and expansion was planned for IAH to maintain its standing as an international hub. Steel detailing responsibility was given to Structures Online which included detailing ‘Rosemary’s Houston Delivery Service’ & ‘Houston City Office’.
Our scope included anchor bolts, embeds, structural steel and other steel such as the bridge, pedestrian bridge, stair tower, car park ramp, elevator tower, truss with rolled pipe structure, ladder, stair, roof access ladder, plate girder, pipe Y column, glass rail, and built-up column/beam/girder. The steel leaf trusses used at the Delivery Service building were one of the highlights of this project due to their scale and complexity.
